In light of his weak leadership and inability to avoid compromising with Democrats, House Speaker John Boehner should step down from his post effective immediately. He should be replaced by first-term Congressman Jeff Landry of Louisiana. Landry was the only Republican in the House who did not accept an invitation to the White House to be lectured by President Obama over why Republicans should cave and vote to raise the debt ceiling without any accompanying budget cuts. Landry effectively said that attending the lecture would have been a complete waste of his time - time he could have spent (and did spend) working on addressing the concerns of his constituents."I have respectfully declined the president's invitation to the White House today. I don't intend to spend my morning being lectured to by a president whose failed policies have put our children and grandchildren in a huge burden of debt."Landry understands that the meeting amounted to little more than political grandstanding by Obama, and refused to be a pawn for Obama's reelection efforts. Contrast that with Boehner's track record of compromising with Democrats and scouring the earth in hopes of finding common ground. Democrats should not be compromised with, they should be defeated. Congressman Jeff Landry understands this fundamental truth, and thus, is more capable than John Boehner to lead the Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives. We need Republicans with some cajones, especially in leadership positions. Landry's got 'em, and Boehner apparently does not. Boehner should step down from his role as Speaker immediately, and House Republicans should vote in Jeff Landry as his replacement.
This is an incomplete list of Fat Lester's pets. Due to the sheer volume of pets, this post will be updated regularly over the next several months. Fat Lester has a number of pets, including more than a handful of dogs and cats, as well as a feral hog. Without further adieu, in no particular order, Fat Lester's pets:
Henry, a Florida resident for the last twelve years loved taking walks at sunset. Not only did he do this for pleasure, but his doctor warned him that he needed to get more exercise to lower his blood pressure. There is a path that travels along the beach that he likes to use because it has a perfect view of the sunset each day. The problem is that Henry recently fell down and broke his leg on such a walk. It was a clear afternoon and Henry was celebrating his 65th birthday. On this special occasion he decided to bring his wife with him. And everything was perfect that evening, they had a nice dinner at an Italian restaurant, went to the ice cream store for a treat to have during the walk, and then were planning to go see a movie afterwards, and action flick. Unfortunately the movie wasn’t in the cards that evening because while they were out walking, a lady lost control of her pack of dogs. The dogs were loose and headed straight for Henry and his wife. As a couple of dogs ran near Henry their leashes wrapped around his foot and Henry lost his balance, fell and broke his leg. While at the hospital, the doctor advised Henry of a store to get the medical equipment he will need to heal from leg fracture. The store had an assortment of products to help with his break including aluminum crutches, water-proof cast protectors to keep his cast dry while showering. They also offered products designed to help make the bathroom safer. These include items such as grab bars and shower chairs. Henry found the long reachers/grabbers particularly useful. His doctor liked the fact that Henry was able to buy an affordable blood pressure monitor so he could keep tabs on his blood pressure from the comfort of his own home. Thanks to all the various pieces of medical equipment Henry was able to acquire, he was able to continue his evening walks – even while his leg was still healing. He was so happy that he was able to continue his daily pleasure that he went out and got a new puppy to keep him company.
Link: http:/ Transport wheelchairs are small, lightweight wheelchairs that feature four small wheels instead of two large and two small wheels, as is found in traditional manual wheelchairs. They are most commonly used in clinical settings such as hospitals, and are designed to be pushed by a caretaker rather than propelled by the user, which is accomplished by the user spinning the two large wheels, thereby propelling the wheelchair. Transport wheelchairs, also known as travel wheelchairs, are less expensive than manual wheelchairs, generally speaking. While most common inside of clinical settings, it is becoming increasingly common for regular people to purchase transport wheelchairs to use as a more convenient travel option than bulky, heavy manual wheelchairs. They are commonly sold by durable medical equipment stores, providers of medical mobility and related companies.
Back in the days when JeffK was Janejas (at Mixx.com - a now-defunct social media community), a fledgling newbie who was still feeling his way around the community, the two of us butted heads late one night during a heated debate that had raged on far longer than it should have - to the point both of us were so tired that our judgment became impaired. In hindsight, that event was inevitable, as the reality is that Jeff and I were so similar in certain aspects of our respective personalities that no room is big enough to contain the two of us unless we both made a conscious decision to accommodate the other. Anyway, that night our argument had been heated for several hours before we both eventually made regrettable remarks to and about the other. Jeff was issued a strike and placed in timeout. I received no formal punishment, but felt like I should have gotten whatever he got (although I didn't complain). I think there were several possible reasons he was punished while I was given leniency. Tenure may have played a role, as by then I had a history and a reputation for good behavior and sound judgment. The baiting clause may have been invoked, as that was one of many possible interpretations of the behavior. I suspect another possible factor may have been that Chris (McGill) seemed to make a point of going way out of his way to show that Mixx was fair and his personal views had no impact on how the site was governed. Not that he needed to. His fairness was only questioned by one person ttbomk, and that person's perspective was as skewed and subjective as can be. Anyway, without being asked or told to do so by Mixx or anyone else, Jeff and I each decided to write each other lengthy apologies, and ask the other's forgiveness for our transgressions. Coincidentally, the two emails were sent within a minute or two of each other, and not enough time for one of the letters to have been written in response to the other. There was no doubting the sincerity on either side, as we were each well aware of the other's humanity and both felt remorseful for treating another person that way over something as silly as a disagreement. I also was aware of his medical condition, and had no desire to do anything that would cause him any unnecessary pain or discomfort. That day, I made a pledge not to participate in discussions that go beyond the point of being heated or intense and wind up as shouting matches, insult sessions, angry mobs and/or gang violence (figuratively speaking of course), or that were excessively angry/hostile/aggressive in tone. For one thing, I don't want to encourage anyone to make a habit of such behavior by engaging them and providing them with the enemy or the attention they seek. If ignored by the community, they usually either change their behavior or go away. Furthermore, angry arguments with angry people isn't the secret to happiness. I don't particularly enjoy being angry, and try my best to avoid giving other people the power to make me angry.
While chatting with my friend MerrieMarie on Amplify the other day, she made an interesting remark about the state of the nation, the crises happening across the globe and the monumental corruption by the professional political left in the U.S. government. Her comment had me rambling in a futile attempt to reply to her comment in a timely and concise manner. Since the response I actually typed didn't quite jive with the post on which she made the comment or with the comment itself, I decided to post it here instead of as a reply to her remark. (@FatLester) "There are so many crisis’ happening that I just try to survive a day at a time. The country is been turned into a cess-pool of corruption by the professional left and the rhinos. I feel like we’ve been in a Zimbabwe time-warp." (@merriemarie) That's a good description. I can see how it might seem that way. Regrettably, I've been expecting this exact scenario for some time now. I've learned to compartmentalize my anger with the state of the nation and the people chiefly responsible for said state such that it doesn't impact my day-to-day mood or ability to enjoy that which is enjoyable. That said, I keep it close enough to the forefront to stay motivated to defeat the sinister clowns. The irony of it is, as miserable as life can be once a person has full committed him or herself to this fight, there is profound enjoyment to be had from the day-to-day victories and successes. Few things bring me more joy than winning at the expense of the left, and few things motivate me more than the successes of the left. The image of Nancy Pelosi with the ear-to-ear botox grin on her face the day Obama signed the corporate welfare bill (the first "stimulus" bill) is powerful enough to prevent me from ever being able to distance myself from the fight, plug myself back into the Matrix and enjoy the rest of my time on earth. With the reckless abandon of a participant in a Girls Gone Wild video, the left manages finances the way the women in those videos manage their clothes. Instead of Girls Gone Wild, we've got Lobbyists Gone Wild, starring Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barack Obama, Timothy Geitner, the UAW, the big lending industry and Wall Street. I just don't have it in me to look the other way. As long as the fight is ongoing, I feel compelled to involve myself to the fullest extent. I've experienced intense bouts of depression every time I've ever tried to distance myself from the fight and watch it from the sidelines. I apparently just don't have it in me. What the hell is my point (I'm asking myself, and no - not rhetorically)? I try to avoid numbing myself with alcohol a day at a time. When I can manage that, I like my odds of living to fight another day. As long as I'm an active participant in this battle that is being waged between right and left (and right and wrong), I can go to bed at night without being tormented by the little internal voice that always will find me in the night, coming back to remind me for eternity of when I gave up the fight. It may not be the most enjoyable way to spend one's time on earth, but it is the only way I can avoid the eternal torment of knowing I stood idly by while my country was destroyed by socialism, all my liberties revoked. The following is a stanza from the 311 song "Large in the Margin": "You think they'll probably find you Well then you're probably right Cause they'll come back to remind you, for eternity Of when you gave up the fight, yeah Somehow they always will find you The voices in the night, and every night Keep comin' back to remind you, for eternity Of when you gave up the fight" Sadly, I can truly say that I think I understand what is meant by the above lyrics, and can most definitely relate to them moreso than I would like.
Link: http:/ My male pit bull mix swallowed a fishing hook during a recent outing on the Tchefuncte River in Covington, Louisiana. Rather than try to remove the hook from the dog's throat, the owner instead brought him immediately to a 24-hour veterinary clinic, where he was x-rayed and evaluated. The good news was that the x-ray showed the hook to still be in the dog's stomach some two-plus hours after he ingested it. That allowed the doctors to use a minimally invasive procedure known as an endoscopy to remove the hook from inside the dog. The alternative would have been a highly-invasive surgery, and there is a distinct possibility that the pup might not still be here today had circumstances forced the vet to go a different route. In any case, the dog is alive and well and all's well that ends well.
COVINGTON, LA - In an effort to keep pace with the fastest growing region in the State of Louisiana, Saint Tammany Parish Hospital on Tyler Street in Covington is set to expand its facilities and health services provided. The hospital will also be making technological upgrades. St. Tammany Parish experienced a rapid, sudden and massive population increase following Hurricane Katrina when tens of thousands of residents from the south shore of Lake Pontchartrain evacuated north and then decided to stay there as opposed to returning home. Thus, the Covington, Louisiana hospital has often experienced a demand for services that has exceeded the capacities of its personnel and facilities. ![]() The renovations and expansion is designed to help accommodate the new and much larger population of the parish, as well as to improve upon the overall degree of quality of the technology being used as well as the services offered. According to Melissa Hodgson, STPH's Chief Public Information Officer, the hospital will be implementing new "technology of convenience", which includes improved electronic record-keeping, take-home testing, rehabilitation needs and even primary care services in Covington as well as at numerous other locations. St. Tammany Hospital employs 10 physicians trained in the DaVinci Surgical Robotic System, a surgical innovation that revolutionizes the invasive open surgical procedures. "Hospital leaders want to be on the forefront of medical care inside one of the fastest growing areas in the United States,” added Hodgson. Link: http:/ It really depends upon the form of vitamin D, as one form does help to prevent the disease while the other has less of an effect, if one at all. It is likely that supplementing with vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) helps to prevent breast cancer in women who have a history of being deficient in the nutrient. I am not confident making the same statement about D2. It is worth pointing out that just because vitamin D3 may be able to help prevent breast cancer in women suffering from a deficiency of the nutrient, that does not mean that supplementing with the vitamin will guarantee you'll be safe from the disease at the exclusion of all other potential causes and contributing factors.

Rather than a comprehensive list of the top sales as determined by price, this article instead looks at some of the more intriguing big-money domain transactions based upon factors such as price, the number of words and characters in the domain, TLD (top-level domain), and the nature of the name itself.

Eating yogurt and taking probiotics can help rebuild the protective immunities in the gut, helping to stave off bacteria and prevent acne. While a vitamin d deficiency does not necessarily cause acne per se, ensuring healthy levels of the nutrient will help improve skin health in general, which helps significantly in the fight against acne.
Link: http:/ Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is the subject of heated debate in America as some in medical circles seek to dismiss the benefits of natural hormones over synthetic while others sing their praises. Do Bio-Identical Hormones Cause Breast Cancer? The answer is no. According to the French Cohort study, there is no increase in breast cancer in women using bio-identical hormones. Do Bio-Identical Hormones Cause Heart Disease ? Again, the answer is NO. A study of CAT calcium scores by JoAnn E. Manson in the June 2007 JAMA actually showed less heart disease in the women taking unopposed estrogen (they had hysterectomies and were not given the synthetic progestins). These same results had already been published 2 years previously in a calcium score study by Budoff in J Womens Health 2005.

What you may have missed is the sheer volume of diseases, illnesses and adverse conditions to low levels of this critical nutrient. More than twenty different diseases and ailments have now been scientifically linked to low levels of Vitamin D in blood of the afflicted individual. |
